Vem vet något om Väcklingeö?

Webbredaktören och jag var på Väcklingeö och strosade några timmar igår. Jag hade fått för mig att man skulle kunna se gamla strandlinjer efter den numera helt försvunna sjön Väckeln. Vi letade också grunder tillhöriga de tre hemman som tidigare funnits på ön. Gårdarna efter Norra Väcklingeö (2 st) och Södra Väcklingeö (1 st) är markerade på Generalstabskartan från 1880 men de saknas på 1949 års ekonomiska karta, dvs bebyggelsen måste ha ödelagts någon gång mellan dessa årtal.

Vi noterade att många arter av kultur- och nyttoväxter fortfarande växer vid gårdslägena. Fortfarande, efter minst 60 år av utebliven omsorg, kämpar dessa växter vidare, numer i kamp med granplantor och annan naturlig växtlighet. Vår okunskap om nyttoväxter (aplar och nypon undantagna) gör att vi skulle vilja komma i kontakt med någon som kan hjälpa oss att inventera och upprätta en lista på dessa växter.

Vi skulle också vilja komma i kontakt med väckelsångsbor som haft släktingar som bott på Väcklingeö, som har fotografier med hus och människor på eller som har historier att berätta om denna plats. Hör av dig till lars_erik.englund@telia.com
